“Huh? The firewall is down?” Fein said in surprise, the changeling artificer paused to brush his long silver hair out of the way as his eyes adjusted to normal light attunement levels to verify. His eyes widened a bit in surprise as the blue flaming barrier, the ‘firewall’ that would normally be the turning back point for this section of the dungeon was completely gone. The half melted scraps of any construct that had wandered too close to it were the only indication that it had ever been there.

“Oh, the guild marker says the branch has been cleared.” Bean Soigood said, the party's weird half elf tracker gestured to the glowing information point. Despite his given race Fein was pretty sure Bean was probably only quarter elf or even less, not that he really cared as he was solid at his job. Still most of his genetics was definitely inherited from his human side as he only had a tiny amount of the pretty boy elf look in his sharp chin. His hair was shiny blond but Bean’s tan skin and brown roots that eventually showed during longer quests definitely said otherwise.

“I guess it should be safe to check it out?” Lima Hans mumbled, the tiny or as he would claim ‘average’ size gnome chemist mumbled shyly. His overly large bangs and crop cut mop of dark brown hair covered his eyes and as well as the rest of his head. His generically brown and tan clothes honestly camouflaged him pretty well other than the fact that his backpack was almost as big as he was and had dozens of multicolored potions strapped to it.

“Eh… why bother? Our quest contract is a standard construct culling routine, we’ll hit our quota with the regular path.” Sebastian Petrol replied, the older grizzled hobgoblin warrior tone made his disinterest evident. Sebastian was a fairly grizzled veteran with probably more scars than the rest of them combined, but also more fat. Nothing against him but he was definitely one of those adventurers that should’ve just retired already, though given his gambling habits they wouldn’t be surprised if he couldn’t. He really only partied with the hobgoblin on easy quests like this one, still he did his job well even if clearing Laset’s Summer Descent of excess constructs was boring.

“It’s a recent opening, who knows what other treasures could still be in there.” Fein said loudly,  knowing that Bean wouldn’t be able to resist the temptation of treasure. Lima… well he knew could be swayed pretty easily once there was a majority. Admittedly Sebastian didn’t have to come but party etiquette was a thing, and if there were treasures he would be forfeiting any claim if he left now.
