“Huh? The firewall is down?” Fein said in surprise, the changeling artificer paused to brush his long silver hair out of the way as his eyes adjusted to normal light attunement levels to verify. His eyes widened a bit in surprise as the blue flaming barrier, the ‘firewall’ that would normally be the turning back point for this section of the dungeon was completely gone. The half melted scraps of any construct that had wandered too close to it were the only indication that it had ever been there.

“Oh, the guild marker says the branch has been cleared.” Bean Soigood said, the party's weird half elf tracker gestured to the glowing information point. Despite his given race Fein was pretty sure Bean was probably only quarter elf or even less, not that he really cared as he was solid at his job. Still most of his genetics was definitely inherited from his human side as he only had a tiny amount of the pretty boy elf look in his sharp chin. His hair was shiny blond but Bean’s tan skin and brown roots that eventually showed during longer quests definitely said otherwise.

“I guess it should be safe to check it out?” Lima Hans mumbled, the tiny or as he would claim ‘average’ size gnome chemist mumbled shyly. His overly large bangs and crop cut mop of dark brown hair covered his eyes and as well as the rest of his head. His generically brown and tan clothes honestly camouflaged him pretty well other than the fact that his backpack was almost as big as he was and had dozens of multicolored potions strapped to it.

“Eh… why bother? Our quest contract is a standard construct culling routine, we’ll hit our quota with the regular path.” Sebastian Petrol replied, the older grizzled hobgoblin warrior tone made his disinterest evident. Sebastian was a fairly grizzled veteran with probably more scars than the rest of them combined, but also more fat. Nothing against him but he was definitely one of those adventurers that should’ve just retired already, though given his gambling habits they wouldn’t be surprised if he couldn’t. He really only partied with the hobgoblin on easy quests like this one, still he did his job well even if clearing Laset’s Summer Descent of excess constructs was boring.

“It’s a recent opening, who knows what other treasures could still be in there.” Fein said loudly,  knowing that Bean wouldn’t be able to resist the temptation of treasure. Lima… well he knew could be swayed pretty easily once there was a majority. Admittedly Sebastian didn’t have to come but party etiquette was a thing, and if there were treasures he would be forfeiting any claim if he left now.

“Yeah, besides Fein can identify anything worth money being, you know, an item dude.” Bean smirked, giving Fein a thumbs up in agreement.

“It’s Artificer, but yes I do quests here often as it’s a good resource for artifact scraps.” Fein replied a little annoyed, then again Bean could just be trying to get a rise out of him.

“Well if you’re sure, I don’t see the harm” Lima said as his cute voice piped in agreement.

“Tsk, fine but anything too dangerous and I’m out of here.” Sebastian grunted as he rolled his eyes in annoyance seeing how things weren’t going his way. The hobgoblin picked up his club and took his position on front guard. “Well what are you gaping at, let's just get this done with.”

As the group cautiously walked down the hall past the firewall point, nothing notable happened to their relief. Apparently even the constructs didn’t spawn in this section. Still pixelated blocks lined the walls and even the air itself, while there was some variation of it through the dungeon this area had been affected far heavier than any other they had seen.

“Are these still safe?” Sebastian said cautiously, slowing down as he eyed the weirdly cubical blocks of matter.

“It’s the same elemental digitization as the rest of the dungeon. I’ve never seen it so extreme but there’s been enough study’s now that’s it’s more or less harmless unless you do something dumb like consume it for week straight. Which case there might be some side effects.” Fein said as he poked one of the floating blocks as an example.

“Hold, I see a gate or something.” Bean said as the party paused cautiously. He crept ahead towards the elaborately decorated door, before pausing for a moment and replying. “We should be good, I don’t hear anything on the other side.”

“They're constructs, they don’t need to breathe.” Sebastian grumbled but accepted Bean’s word as he walked over.

“Yeah they just clank and tick instead” Bean countered in good humor.

“Just give me a minute.” Fein said as he examined the door. The self trained artificer had always been interested in Lasat’s technology, then again who wasn’t. The legendary Artificer had revolutionized the world over a century before his sudden disappearance during the wars of that era. Still he didn’t have to do anything before the doors slid open revealing a large glass tube-like chamber that could probably fit a whole caravan. “Or not? The other group must have disabled all the counter measures already.”

“I’ll send them a gift card if they didn’t loot everything too.” Sebastian replied sarcastically.

“Sweet, sooo what’s this thing for?” Bean asked, turning towards Fein.

“It’s most likely a lift?” Fein said, a little unsure. The glass tube showed an unnatural darkness outside the windows as if there was nothing, not even dirt.

“Oh it’s bigger than it looked.” Lima said entering as well, curiosity winning out as he examined the glass.

As soon as they were all inside, the door behind them closed as the clank of the recently unused gears met their ears. Everybody gasped when the chamber itself suddenly hummed to life, feeling it moving? However, it didn’t feel like it was moving left or right, or even up or down.

[Validating]

“Uh… Fein is it supposed to do that?” Bean asked.

“You dumbasses move! It's clearly a trap! I’m getting out of here!” Sebastian shouted slamming his club into the glass, spider cracks spread across the impact point.

[Authorization accepted]

“Stop that you’re going to break something!” Fein shouted, after all the authorization was accepted so it should be fine

“That’s the point, it’s clearly one of those delayed traps.” he shouted, smashing his hammer at the some spot, the spiderweb spread but other than a few tiny fragments that broke free the glass held.

“You moron what are you do01111001 01101111 01110101 00100000 01100110 01110101 01100011 01101011 01101001 01101110 01100111 00100000 01101101 01101111 01110010 01101111 01101110!” Fein shouted as the damaged glass Sebastian suddenly shattered? No it was pixelating the spider web cracked cubefield as suddenly the entire glass panel suddenly transformed into thousands of pixelated pieces before it sucked out of the chamber as the energy pulsated. 01100001 01100010 01101111 01110010 01110100 Fein shouted trying to abort but words failed him as he was pulled through the panel.

“Bytes!” Akita’s voice startled the group as the digital transmission sputtered to life, Akita’s face alert and slightly panicked face appeared in the tiny portable holographic projector as the wagon rolled on wards. “Did you make sure to secure everything!?”

Yeah? It should be fine, the zone is a recreation zone after all. We made sure everything was correctly segregated and restricted according to the suggested safety levels before we left.” Zexa and Xeza replied in tandem. The metallic elemental twins of the sun and moon dials simultaneously paused to look up from the books they were reading. Zexa was glancing through the current fad ‘Gyaru Generation’, while Xeza was reading Isekai Racer: Drifting through a new world.

Honestly it was an RR plane, it should be perfectly safe unless they messed up the digitization system or such” Xeza and Zexa paused looking at each other before releasing a combined sigh.  “They messed up the digitization system didn’t they…”

“That’s the most likely cause, something broke the transistors mid fragmization sequence. Though I’m getting multiple other security warnings so I wouldn’t be surprised if there are other issues. Either way several systems including the digitization system have gone into lockdown mode due to the damage and are cycling through checks.” Akita replied, confirming their fears.

Fine, we’ll head back to check it out.” They sighed in tandem annoyance coloring their faces.

“Thanks gigabytes! I wouldn’t want anything bad to happen because of our negligence, it is our responsibility as we opened it up after all.” Akita said, rubbing her temples in annoyance as more blue screens appeared. “Just call me if you need any help. This messed up data transmissions so I’m cleaning things up on this end”

We will. Xeza and Zexa sighed as they nodded in agreement, closing their books as Akita faded once the transmission had closed out.

“Julia! Maevyn! Synsae!” Xeza and Zexa shouted loudly. The wagon slowed to a stop as they stepped out of the wagon to talk to their love and their knights.

“Hmm? Something wrong? We’re still hours out from the next stop.” Julia asked, hopping down from her position in the driver's seat. Their twin tailed love looked rather lovely in the afternoon sun, as her tight bodysuit armor hugged snuggly just how they liked it.

Change of plans,” Xeza and Zexa said, pausing for Synsae and Maevyn as they unhooked themselves from where they had been pulling the wagon. The opposite yet matching cycler pair was a little sweaty from pulling the wagon all morning but they were no worse for wear, at least compared to the races they were used to. It looks like someone broke Laset’s R&R room so we’re heading back to check it out and maybe rescue some fools.”

“Already? Yeesh” Synsae sighed.

“So what’s the plan?” Julia asked as she stretched.

“Oh oh! What do watashi need to do?” Maevyn spoke with her usual thick weebonese accent.

“Julia, You’ll head back to the town we just left for some rental steeds.”

Maevyn, Synsae, You’ll head back ahead first to scout the systems. If you need to save someone go ahead but otherwise just wait for us.”

We’ll troubleshoot the details once we get there

“Hai! Senpai! Shall we?” Maevyn smirked at Synsae as she bent over her clock like cycler wheels locking in position on her feet. Synsae wordlessly met Maevyn, their bodies intertwined as her cycler wheel locked into position there, bodies forming a singular motor vehicle as they took off in a cloud of dust.

“You’re just going to wait here until I get the horses aren’t you” Julia said

Of Course

*********

“Ow…” I groaned as I awakened, even awakening I could feel that my body was off. Being a changeling one generally becomes attuned to a standard state of form, the large pixelated blocks that now formed my body were anything but normal. I struggled as my body felt sluggish to respond, still after a few moments the blocky pixels that currently made up my body began to rearrange.

“Hey we’re still alive!” a voice that could only be Bean shouted loudly nearby. Turning I paused in surprise but I could still tell the blocky pixel person was Bean, his face structure was still there but it was odd to see the unnatural motions of his cubical form.

“I told you it was a trap, Fein!” Sebastian grunted his ugly mug looked honestly almost the same in his pixelated form.

“No it wasn’t, I'm pretty sure it was one of those old digitization systems, now our pixalition is all messed up thanks to your paranoia!” I cursed giving up on trying to arrange his body back to normal. While it still moved the amount that could be shapeshifted appeared to be limited based on the block radius, meaning I couldn’t change myself back to normal.

“Screw you too, now what the hell did it do to us?” Sebastian grunted in denial.

“Digitization transmutes the body into a matching mana molecular variant that can exist within higher realms, if it went off correctly we wouldn’t be able to tell the difference in our bodies but you just had to interrupt” Fein explained in annoyance.

“Whatever I told you it was a trap!” Sebastian retorted.

“Now, now, arguing isn’t going to fix us or get us out of here.” Lima said, walking in between us. I had to hold back a laugh but honestly with Lima’s generic brown look his blocky form now looked like one of those doodley poop things.

“Fine.” Sebastian grunted, I only huffed... At least as Lima stared at me his doe shaped eyes even pixelated as they were too effective.

“Fine, so any ideas where we are?” I asked, hoping someone had found something. Looking around it looked like we were on a large road of sorts. The gravel that made up the road was almost unnaturally smooth and black with various long yellow and white lines upon it in parallel. The grass surrounding it was lush yet short with large red and white colored walls that blocked off our view of anything else.

“The road is long but curves at both ends so I can’t tell where either goes given the walls, Woah this is totally rad.” Bean said as his pixels stretched? His blocky form had a much larger range of motion than it looked like.

“Wait… do you feel that?” Bean suddenly paused.

“Feel what now?” Sebastian muttered, still examining himself.

I paused, while my digitized sense of touch was still normal as far as I could tell and I felt no-wait… I felt it, the sensation of the ground rumbling.

Like a demon out of hell a cloud of dust and within it roaring monsters with multiple glowing eyes suddenly barreled around the corner of the road and toward us. It was hard to tell details with the dust storm that they were kicking up other than they were huge, fast, and coming towards us.

“What's that…” Lima said in fright.

“Does it matter? Run!!” Sebastian said before running down the road in the opposite direction. Well attempted to run at least. Our blocky bodies didn’t make it far before the monsters barreled down the road into us.

“AHH!!” Lima was the first to go down, his tiny body engulfed by the cloud of the monster, a small ‘thump’ sound the only indication he had even been there. Still I didn’t have much more time. I threw myself to the ground as I stretched the pixels that made up my body as thin as I could. I felt the front of the monster fly over me but something that felt like wheels rolled over my body. Still it was brief and just as suddenly as it had come, it disappeared.

“Ow…” I was alive, I could feel and see the black lines the thing had made on my body but thinning myself under it had mostly worked out.

“Are you guys still alive?” Lima’s voice spoke out.

“You're alive!” I spoke in surprise looking around for him only to see a pancake moving towards me?

“Somehow?” Beans said, turning to the voice I could see his body looking like a pancake, it was clearly him though given his smooshed face that was in the middle. Maybe the variable body mass was a side effect of pixelation.

“I’m blaming all of you for this” The flat square block that was Sebastian’s current shape groaned. His greater mass I was guessing was the cause for his rather cubical shape.

“How come you didn’t get squished?” Bean asked.

“I dived under it.” I replied matter of factly, the rest of my explanation was cut short and a glowing flying disc like construct suddenly hovered over us.

“Are you a system administrator?” I paused hopefully as the creature's words echoed.

“Hey get us out of here,” Sebastian demanded.

“What no!” I shouted in horror.

“Oh hell no” Bean protested, if he wasn’t a pancake I assumed he was trying to do a fighting stance.

“Is it talking about us?” Bean asked, staring at the construct.

“How would I know? Do I look like a weeb?” I sputtered as suddenly our pixels began to unwind. “Oh that can’t be good!”

“Not again!?” Lima shouted as we got sucked up by the construction.

“This is all your faulttt” Sebastian shouted as his fat blocky ass was the last to get dragged in.

[Race initializing]

[Loading…]

“We’re stuck in the track area.” I said as my attempts to leave the racing zone were met with invisible walls, my hand couldn’t push through no matter how hard I tried.

“At least you’re still humanoid, I’m a @#%$$#^ cart” Sebastian spat from his position on the racing track, the newly minted Oboroguruma monster was not happy at his current condition. Not that I could completely blame him, his head was attached to the body of the ox cart that made up his body or the cycler I was apparently supposed to drive. It was a fancy but fairly traditional wooden 2 wheel ox cart that one would see on any local farm. Though there was no ox or horse rather it used Sebastian's ghostly hp to fuel it.

“Well good for you, I’m a head on a wheel.” Bean shouted from the side of the cycler.

“Please tell me we don’t spin with the wheels.” Lima sputtered from the other side. The pair of them actually looked similar to their pancake pixelated forms, apparently there was a monster race called Wanyuudou which were essentially heads on wheels. Whatever the system had done though had ungraded by literally changing their race, but at least they were no longer blocky and pixelated.

Fortunately I had fared much better then the others, apparently the black strips and my shapeshifting nature had identified myself as a Tanuki to the system. While the natural furry ears and fluffy tail weren’t anything too new as a shapeshifter, the giant set of melon sized balls definitely were… seriously what was wrong with weebon changelings.  I honestly wasn’t even sure I wanted to know. Still as a tanuki I still retained my  shapeshifting abilities and thankfully it wasn’t something that I couldn’t just adjust.

“Any ideas?” I said as I walked back to the cycler where the three were apparently forcibly parked.

“Oh… it looks like the city of Yotkyai, it’s been a while since I was last there but it looks mostly the same?” Lima said in thought.

“Mostly?” I asked, the city looked pretty but having never been to weebon I had no clue personally.

“Yeah it definitely has the notable landmarks but I’m pretty sure that temple was renovated and expanded” Lima's head bobbed towards the large cliffside in the distance that overlooked the street we were stuck on.

“Oh oh what if, we’re repeating a past event and we're stuck on the road because that’s all the system can load. I mean if what hit us early were cyclers that would make sense.” Bean said rather excitedly. Oh right he was a huge cycler fan wasn’t he, I guess getting to be in a race even as part of the vehicle would be a dream come true for him. Honestly actually considering that we were still in the digital realm I wouldn’t be surprised if it was something like that. I had heard there were ‘games’ that let you experience past events.

“If that’s true then where are all the rest of them?” Sebastian muttered.

[Orima Cycle Race 1002]

[Yotkyai 666]

Just like that suddenly various Racing Cyclers suddenly materialized all around us. Even for a person that didn’t pay attention to the sport at all I could see famous cyclers such as the Princess Crownobile of the Orima Sisters or Ponykin’s Reinbow Splash.

“1002 that was decades ago, ah that makes sense.” Lima said, thoughtfully at the dates.

“Oh my god we’re in the Yotkyai 666.” Bean said practically squealing in delight despite the circumstances.

“The what?” Sebastian asked non committedly.

“Only one of the biggest races in the world, How do you not know? Don’t you bet on these?? It’s 666 laps through Yotkyai, capital of Weebon it’s one of the longest and hardest races in the world being as the city itself is living and shifts constantly.” Bean said with a fanboi love to his voice.

“I just bet on the hottest babe driving, who actually cares about cycling?” Sebastian replied indifferently.

“So do we have to race to get out?” Lima asked curiously.

“If it’s just a replication of a race I doubt it but unless someone knows how to work around the system controls we’ll probably need to wait for it to finish up.” I answered truthfully as I got back in the cart. “If it’s a ‘game’ replication when it ends we should get ejected as well.”

“Oh ok that doesn’t sound too bad” Lima nodded along hopefully.

“Lets just race, we’re here after all and I’ve always wanted to try it out.” Bean begged the rest of us.

“Don’t cycle races usually have weapons and such? I rather not take the chance and just wait on the side” Lima said, I honestly didn’t blame him Orima Cycles even from my minimal knowledge regularly had things like bimbo bombs and other crap tossed at each other.

“Well if we don’t need to actually race then I’m not moving so too bad.” Sebastian said.

“Considering you guys make up the cycler and I don’t really have any experience steering, I’m leaning with no as well” I begrudgingly voted with Sebastian and Lima to Bean's dismay.

“Aww come on please please please please” Bean repetitively began to beg us.

[Are you ready!]

The three lights above the track flashed on as a loud beeping commenced, suddenly the loud roars of the other cycles engines began to rev all around us as the light began to shine.

Like that the rest of the cyclers were off, the machines blasting off leaving us to eat their dust literally. It honestly reminded me of the dust monster… ah so that’s what hit us I guess that would explain why we were here.

“Lets gooo” Bean shouted trying to move but being that he was only the right side wheel instead the cycle began to spin in circles over and over.

“I think I’m gonna puke.” Lima said dizzily

“Hey, watch it!” Sebastian said indignantly as Lima started barfing in the middle of the road.

“It’s probably safer this way Bean, I mean it’s a long race after all and we should avoid attracting attention. There are some pretty scary magics and skills used in these races.” I replied honestly trying to calm Bean down. As I was speaking I could feel my hair raise as a magic energy coalesced around us as a storm cloud suddenly appeared overhead.

“Mov-BZZZTT!!!

So they initiated a race?” Zexa and Xeza asked as they looked on at the race going on in the Orima Kart Crystal vision.

“Hai” Maevyn replied, looking impatiently at the screen.

“We didn’t catch the start but they haven’t really gotten anywhere, they just keep arguing and getting hit by the other cyclers' attacks. It’s honestly kind of pitiful.” Synsae said sheepishly gesturing to the screen.

“Wouldn’t the other cyclers only pass them once per lap? How often can they even get hit?” Julia said, confused.

“Yotkyai is Genki city, no like NEET. Punish them by shifting them into intersecting traffic.” Maevyn said matter of factly.

“Ah… that could be an issue.” Julia replied as the display showed them getting what could only be described as a gangbang as they got hit with 3 different attacks at all different angles. “Can we get them out?”

It looks like the system is resynchronizing using the run cycles to repair and relink the systems,Xeza explained while Zexa examined the digital display menus before passing it on. “Apparently their pixels were also upgraded using the Cycler digitization engine, so ending it would have unknown effects.

“So what can we do?” Synsae asked wincing as she helplessly watched the party get zapped again.

We’ll work with Julia on physical repairs of the digitization systems, Meanwhile you two join in the race and see if you can get them to accept our sponsorship. It’ll be easier to manage their vitals and get them racing so that Yotkyai stops punishing them that way. Honestly if it keeps up at this rate all that will be left of them will be a bunch of brainless bimbo bots. If you can finish it up sooner that would also be good.” Zexa and Xeza replied in thought as they examined the available options.

“Hai! sounds good to watashi!” Maevyn smiled, hugging Synsae.

“Sweet race time!” Synsae lips intertwined with Maevyn as their hair drills swirled and spun together.

Accepting now.” The twins replied by tapping a glowing button between them on the system display.

Maevyn and Synsae forms glowed and broke apart into a sparkle of pixels as the digital teleportation commenced.

“I’m going to be doing most of the physical repairs aren’t I.” Julia said matter of factly giving the twins a stink eye stare.

We’ll help via rotation dear but we wouldn’t like to leave them helpless like this.” The twins replied completely engrossed with their menu options. “Hmm our options are more limited without the Chrono Cycler to smooth things out. Still we have plenty of funds from the previous circuit run though.”

“Interesting, it looks like the monster system was used for their digitization. This opens up a lot of options.” Zexa and Xeza smiled widely, giggling all the while.

“Oh now these look like fun upgrade paths.”

*********

Fifu didn’t like being the only humanoid on the cycler, it was a pain. While he didn’t physically get hurt by cycler attacks, all those meanies attacks had transformation thingies that affected her? No wait, it was still him? Fiona no… Flubber? No it was Frank?? Arg… it made my head hurt. He pouted and wanted to cry as all the thingies were making his head tingle and what was Fumio thinking about again?

“Aww I liked that fuku.” Fein shouted as his mind reoriented as their clothes transformed again, the school fuku transformed into a kimono as another shell bonked into them, the cycler spinning from the impact as the flowing robes appeared on each of them causing a drag effect.

“Owie owie owie!” Sebastian moaned in pain… though it sounded more like pleasure to him. While Fein didn’t think he was affected as much being that his body was the kart and it had more or less reformed after every impact. Sebastian's head was not exempt though, Maybe it was focusing the changes to that part as he now sported a pair of cute black kitty heads and silky thick hair, thick gothic makeup, along with a general facial shape changes making him look rather cute.

“Not again! Come on work with me Lima!” Bean shouted as they barely dodged another spinning green ball. Fein couldn’t really see how they were doing, but other than some sounding more girly the pair didn’t sound that different.

“What do you expect me to do?!” Lima whined as suddenly another path shifted the road seemingly bending at an impossible angle as another pair of cyclers appeared, their skills hot in use.

[Here comes a new challenger!]

Suddenly the attacks stopped as the words appeared in the sky. We could feel our pixels being pulled 01100100 01101001 01100111 01101001 01110100 01101001 01111010 01100101 01100100. Blinking we found ourselves on the starting line again. Did the race restart? Looking at the others and myself it looked like our bodies had been partially restored to what they had been at the start, though like uh… I couldn’t be wrong? My mind still felt like it had a cloudy fuzz over it.

“Ohiyo! Watashi and Synsae-chan here to help!” A pair of sexy gold and silver  asymmetrical skin tight suited females shouted from a nearby starting spot. They hadn’t been there earlier I think? The clearly weebonese member of the pair waved at us before wheeling over. Though I didn’t see a cycler vehicle? The pair of large clock-like wheels on their arms and legs were the only indication that they were a cycler.

“She’s Maevyn and unfortunately our lady says that the race will need to finish running as it’s part of the system repair cycle.” Synsae said as she did a short bow.

“Your lady?” Sebastian asked cautiously.

“We’re Knights of the Cycle and represent the Lady Zexa and Lady Xeza from the Church of Alivanous.” Synsae said.

“I’ve heard of them before, but why are you in this dungeon?” I asked as the names jogged my memories of recent upcoming names in the magitech world or at least one of them, an Akita if memory serves correct.

“We were in here earlier retrieving a quest item for our goddess, a ward we placed informed someone had damaged the digitization system as such we hurried back to check it out.” Synsae replied.

“Ha I was right! BAKA!” I shouted reflexively for some reason as I flicked Sebastian's head.

“Ow! Well good for y-OW!!” Sebastian groaned as a wheel slapped against the cart.

“You deserve more kicks, you butt head.” Bean shouted clearly annoyed, Sebastian just grumbled but didn’t retort.

“If possible we’d like you to join our group, that way Milady’s can act as your sponsor and managers. It’s fine if you don’t though we’ll still finish the race to get you guys out.” Synsae stated straightforwardly.

“What does that do?” Lima asked, while he had stopped puking a while ago just by the tone of his voice you could tell he was still under the weather from all the spinning.

“While they can’t directly affect the race as Managers they can apply repairs and upgrades for long races like this.” Synsae replied.

“I’ll take that.” I replied remembering what the race had just put us through.

“Anything if it helps with the spinning,” Lima agreed.

“Bah fine.” Sebastian said a little more quietly now but still slightly defiant despite that the pair had confirmed that the damaged system was the cause.

“Sweet, that’s fine with me. Though do we have to wear a logo or something?” Bean asked curiously, as it was well known Cyclers tended to have sponsor ads.

“Maybe? I don’t think we have one other than generic church imagery” Synsae said, turning to Maevyn.

“Oh oh! No logo yet! Senpai works on it though! Also Yotkyai alive, no like lazy NEET’s or punish. So try race, even if not good if try Yotkyai will good happy!” Maevyn explained as best she could in her broken english.

“Oh right what she’s saying is that you will need to race. Apparently even if this is a game copy the city of Yotkyai is literally alive and will punish you if you throw the race. But as long as you make an effort the Yotkyai will generally leave you alone. The other cyclers, not so much but we’ll keep their attention on us for the most part.” Synsae explained.

“Called it!” Bean shouted.

“You never said that, you just said we should race cause you like the sport.” I countered, my memory still strong even with the various magics that scrambled my mind earlier.

“Oh right! Still told you we should have raced” Bean muttered on, I tuned him out.

“So what do we need to do to get the sponsor thing?” I asked but no sooner did the words leave my mouth did a pair of glowing buttons appear in front of us.

Sponsorship application

[ACCEPT] [DECLINE]

“Anything else?” I asked after hitting the accept button, the beep of acknowledgement resounded as the others also confirmed.

{Greetings I’m sure Synsae and Maevyn have already mentioned but we’re Zexa and Xeza and we’re your sponsor and acting managers} a pair of voices spoke in our heads.

“Hello? Uh… How does this work?” Lima said shyly.

{We’re watching from the system screens, you can just speak or think responses and we’ll get the feedback. As your managers we’ll have options to apply various repairs and upgrades during the race. In fact we found a few that could be helpful.}

“Oh really nice! Is there a list or something?” Bean asked curiously.

{There’s a decent number of options but we don’t really have the time to go over them all as the race is starting up again.} No sooner than they mentioned it did the pixelation of the other races began to generate as the various lights activated.

“Well either way thank you for your assistance Milady’s” Fein added politely.

“Ugh now we have girlies talking in my head, screw this life” Sebastian groaned.

“You should be good to go, Milady’s will do what they can but otherwise just try.” Synsae said as she and Maevyn headed back to their starting position. “Good luck in the race, we’ll look out for you when we can but finishing it quickly will probably be better for everyone.”

“Any advice on actually racing?” Bean asked curious if the professionals had any insights to give them.

"Racing’s simple. You make choices and you don’t look back." Synsae and Maevyn said together almost fortuitously. Their interlinking poses had such bravado and sensuality that we couldn’t help but blush as we all got horny just looking at them.

[Are you ready!]

The three lights above the track flashed on as a loud beeping commenced, suddenly the loud roars of the other cycles engines began to rev all around us as the light began to shine.

*********

“WOOO!!” Bean shouted as they raced. The plus side being a flaming head wheel monster thing was that the fire trap they had just driven through didn’t harm him, heck it seemingly empowered him a bit. On the other hand it tingles annoyingly; the flame danced upon his forehead like an itch that he couldn’t scratch as he literally had no limbs to do so at the moment. Seriously, who came up with these weird monster races? Turning the corner they weren’t doing terribly, yes they were last but still they weren’t that far back from the rest of the pack. Still being in the back meant any number of active traps or ricocheting weapons were always waiting for them.

“Crap!! Sorry!!” Fein shouted from the driver's seat as there was no way to dodge the next trap without spinning out at the speed they were going.

“Oh not again! crap cra-BLUBB” Bean protested as they hit another oil trap. Compared to the fire the thick oil that covered him was much worse, it covered him completely with a thick oily goop that clung like a thick film over every inch of him as they spun out once again. The salty oily cream taste that layered the inside of his mouth and what had to be the inside of his nose made him momentarily regret racing.

Still with the separation of cycle functions even temporarily disabled others reoriented and took off again. Chasing off the 2nd to last the speed, wind, and adrenaline made him forget any discomfort as they hit a jump ramp into a towerside!?! What the heck were they supposed to do?

Synsae and Myvean in front of them were unfazed, their cycler changing forms, as their wheels drifted behind them in perfectly synchronized motion. He knew what the technique was called, being an avid racing fan, a perfectly done Shift technique performed on the impossible tight corners always amazed him.

As he landed they turned to the right but there was no way he could get enough traction, they were going to crash through the window at this rate they-

{It looks like a shiftgrade option is available for you, it's a major one though I must warn you it-} Zexa’s voice cut through.

“Do itt!!!” Bean interrupted as the tower’s V corner came up. He could feel it! The adrenaline pumping through his gears, his soul in the pixels, his very existence unwinded into its base components the Pure Binary that contained his all… shifted.

Shift he had to shift, the pixels that made up their body pulled apart into the base components thousands of 0’s and 1’s composing his body flashed through the space

“Ahh ahhhh!! YESS!!” Bean screamed in pleasure as his flesh erupted from the ever expanding wheel. The binary data bytes increased in size as the once wooden frame refined into a gleaming golden metallic tone. I II III the numerals continued to form on the wheel counting up to XII before they finally stopped. As his wheel his body expanded as the bytes doubled in size until the uniwheel was as large as the kart itself.

His head tore itself from the axel free pixel by pixel, 0’s and 1’s expanding digit by digit as she shifted.

Her glossimer platinum blond hair shined, its curls waving in the wind .

Arms petite yet muscular with glittering nails emerged gripping the wheel sides.

Narrow and petite shoulders pulled through and with it they carried its perfectly round and erect pair of golden blossoms.

The golden bronze skin glimmered with a translucent oil as the bosums broke free bouncing wildly in the air everything above the waist emerged.

Hips wide yet firm jiggled as assets rounder then a wheel bounced outwards.

Legs stretching outward but always one with her wheel.

As she formed, as she dressed, a tight golden sailor fuku, the silver ribbon binding her chest.

The silver tartan skirt covered little and showed all tying in with the sexy yet asymmetrical stockings

She wouldn’t be the reason they fell, Bimu giggled as her wheel pivoted almost perpendicular to the ground as she drifted her entire body grinding against the floor as the kart edged closer and closer. Her oily skin slid yet gripped the ground, the drag of pleasure gripping her, filling her as she rotated against it edging ever closer.

“AHHH!!!!!” She screamed with pleasure as she passed the precipice and flew but it was enough as they dragged around the corner perfectly, the climax both mental and physical in proportions.

“Like we totally did it!” Bimu shouted as she felt more free and true then she ever had before.

*********

Lima wasn’t sure what was going on with his life anymore. It should have been a safe quest and now he was a head on a very spinny wheel that was going waaayyy too fast for his comfort. They almost just died again but Bimu had upgraded or something and saved them at the last second from skidding off the tower road.

“Not another one.” Lima shouted as they were about to hit another jump ramp almost immediately after the turn. Still being an alchemist he had an eye for measurements and given the loss of speed even after Bimu’s perfect corner shift they were still going to fall well short of the next tower.

“Stop!! We’re not going to make it!!” Lima shouted to the others, but what could they do? It wasn’t like they could stop at this speed.

{It looks like a shiftgrade option is available for you, it's a linking one to Bimu’s but it’s-} Xeza’s voice cut through the cacophony of noise as they dragged against the wind.

“Fine! DO IT!!!” After all, if that cute and beautiful bimbo Bimu could do it, so could he. He was timid but he was not a coward! He would be brave if he could, he had too.

“Oh nowiess! Oh yesss!! Nitro!” Ino screamed as she activated one of her inventory fuels. She was passive but when it came to the safety of her lovers she would spare no expense. Her leg veins filled out the magical energy silver glowing as she walked within her uniwheel. One length two, four, ten she strutted; time seemingly slowing stopping as she spun herself.

Faster…

Firmer..

Furiously.

“BOOSTOO!!!” Ino released her pent up feelings, her pent up frustrations, her pent up pleasures as she climaxed as they rocketed forward and upward over the ramp and into the sky. Bimu being the darling that she was, caught her as she let herself go from it all.

*********

“HOLYY FUCKK!!!! -mhhh” Sebastian shouted as they rocketed over the ramp edge, seemingly flying through the air. He tried to stifle another moan, not that he would ever let any of them know but he honestly kind of enjoyed this setup.

Whether it was getting directed by Fein, having his ass grinded and slapped by Bimu, or Ino’s druggy self doing whatever she was doing. It was also cheaper to boot, hiring private mistress sessions is honestly where he spent most of his money, even if he faked losing bets so that no one else would ever know about his fetish. After all, what could be more embarrassing than a masochist hobgoblin? Hobgoblins were supposed to be the offenders, never the receivers and after years of ostracization from the rest of his kind he didn’t need pity from others.

“Fein what’s that!” Sebastian shouted, unsure if he was seeing things or if there really was a rainbow colored bright glowing thing where they were supposed to land.

“Looks like it’s a mine!? Fuck it’s a mine!” Fein shouted in confirmation. The problem with aerial jumping was that after you jumped you had no control over where you landed. It was like a countdown as they gradually dropped closer and closer. The large glowing mine that was likely dropped by one of the other cyclers ensured that the landing would suck, but would it really?

{It looks like a shiftgrade option is available for you, it's a major one though we must warn you that you won’t be able to avoid your true nature if you do it.} Xeza and Zexa’s voices cut through.

Sebastian sighed, it was his fault, his overzealousness, his aloofness that caused it, still they hadn’t pitied him so it was his turn to fix things “Lets do it!”

“It’s MINE!!” Sub screamed in pain and pleasure as she turned herself to guard the others as she impacted the land mine. Absorbing the blast as it stripped her, as wood shattered, stainless golden and silver metal chains linked and repaired. She went numb with pain and pleasure as the latex filled the open holes. She could feel the secondary effects of the magic mine strip her mind, thoughtlessly she drooled, senselessly she orgasmed, fearlessly she hoped.

“MORE HIT ME MOREE!!” Sub drooled as she cried out without a care in the world, taking all the punishment. After all, Bimu, Ino and Fein had accepted her for the masochist that she was and treated her accordingly. Controlling her every action as she was used as their personal meat shield over and over again as she quaked in further anticipation as the race continued on. She didn’t need to think, to do, she just had to protect and pleasure.

I could feel it, the energy building within me, the link with the others called to me as I could feel them Shift. My changeling nature told me it wasn’t a minor change though, their very nature had evolved, shifting permanently.

I-I-I could deny it but they were becoming so much more, so much better, so much stronger, shifting to something greater.

“Kimochiiii” Sub moaning pleasure as I turned the cart by steering the cycler with her horns.

“Wohoooo” Bimu shouted excitedly, grinding against us as we drifted accordingly.

“Ara Ara” Ino lusted, high off life as she accelerated.

{The shift option is still there.} Xeza and Zexa’s voices tempted me, saying nothing more I knew it would be a true shift. It would change me irrevocably, but could I truly deny it? They were giving it their all and I was just watching.

“OHOHOHOH” Fumio laughed at the world as they raced. As they lived. As they loved.

We were Yokai Cyclers and I was the leader. I was their princess. Mother Yotkyai had chosen me to lead, to shift, to cycle. So I shifted gears, my mana flowing from my bosom infusing us all as I rose to meet all the challenges.

*********

“Those titles are so silly, but those digishift evolutions truly are revolutionary evolutionary transformations. Too bad it only works on digital entities.” Zexa and Xeza said as they watched the race finally came to a conclusion. Synsae and Maevyn had come in first again, though it had been a close thing but with the randomness of the items in cycler races nothing was guaranteed. Still the most surprising thing was the Yokai’s had staged a respectable comeback to end with a 4th place finish. “Still to think that Yotkyai itself would affect their shift, it’s influence was most likely due to the yokai monster type they had been digitized as but still it makes it rather unstable if something like that can happen.”

“Hmm what’s going on now? I’m exhausted just from watching that.” Julia panted tiredly next to them, having cheered enough for the three of them.

The digitization teleportation processed as Synsae and Maevyn reappeared in a flash of pixels along with the Yokai.

“Still we didn’t finish in the top 3” Bimu said with a look of disappointment on her face.

“Ara Ara we tried.” Ino smiled as she wrapped Bimu into a comforting embrace, the two wheels entangled deeply.

“No worry, do a good job” Synsae replied, joining in the hug.

“Yes we’re both actually very impressed. If you had shifted to your true selves from the start you might have finished first.” Maevyn replied honestly.

“So good” Sub drooled with a dazed look upon her face. While the others looked the same Sub however had changed upon digiporting. Her oni-like head hadn’t changed but her body was no longer in cycler mode and instead of a mechanical kart she had a humanoid form. Her physical body sported a gothic fishnet bodysuit, with hoof like hands and feet. Above the bodysuit linking to her piercing were a series of complicated golden and silver chains that wrapped around her body shibari style to a master leash.

“We thank you once more for your aid, milady’s.” Fumio said regally, nodding from where she was sitting piggy back style upon Sub. Sub’s leash in hand they trotted forward while doing a seated curtsy. “I… no we would never have discovered ourselves if it wasn’t for your helpful shift.”

We didn’t do much, you had it in yourselves the upgrade shift just brought it out quicker” Zexa and Xeza replied somewhat modestly.

“Still this is yours is it not?” Fumio said gesturing to the sun and moon symbol weaved into each of their clothes.

That’s just the symbol for our Knights of the Cycles, we didn’t have the time to take it out.” Zexa and Xeza

“Knights of the Cycle? That sounds interesting. If possible may we talk about some details,” Fumio smiled. “We’re friends aren’t we?”

"We don’t have friends, we have family." Zexa and Xeza said with smiles on their faces as they opened their arms wide to welcome its newest members.
